Our Business Office consists of nine very dedicated individuals.  Our front office staff wears many hats at FMC.  Along with the responsibility of scheduling patient visits, they also maintain patient medical records, verify and correct patient information, post charges and payments, mail statements prepare patient charts, verify insurance coverage, generate statistical information, help answer patient questions, mail patient cards regarding test results, provide daily count information, patient time study and route call to the various departments.

Our insurance office files insurance claims, post payments, and charges to the patient’s accounts.  They work directly with insurance companies to ensure that each claim is properly considered for payment.

We have several staff members with in the Business Office that have become certified in their area of expertise including three Certified Professional Coders and two Certified Healthcare Access Associates.

The Clinical Department is made up of seven knowledgeable, well-trained individuals.  Within the Clinical Department there are several different areas.  The triage rooms are designed to determine why a patient is here.  Each nurse is trained extensively with protocols set forth by the providers to determine what laboratory exams will be needed prior to seeing the patient.  The procedure area is designed for multiple functions such as colposcopies, sigmoidscopy, colon biopsies, lesion removals (which may be sent for pathology reading), pulmonary function test, laceration repairs and casting.  In addition to, vision and hearing screenings are offered.  The staff using state of the art equipment and technology performs pelvic and abdominal ultrasounds.  Each individual is also trained to assist in the exam rooms with the providers when needed.

We have one LPN, Carla Haydon, who is certified by The American Red Cross for CPR and First Aid training.  Each of the clinical staff is trained and certified in CPR and First Aid.

FMC has a moderate complexity Laboratory certification through the Health Care Financing Administration (HCFA).  The laboratory is evaluated yearly to confirm compliance with all provisions addressed in the certification of Clinical Laboratory Improvement Amendments (CLIA).

By having an in-house laboratory, patient’s lab work can be done while they wait and with most test, the provider can have the results and treat the illness the same day.  Without an in-house lab, patients would have to either travel to another lab extending their waiting time or the lab work would have to sent out to a reference lab with the results not being known for up to two days.

CLIA certification allows FMC to perform a range of laboratory test including blood sugar monitoring, cholesterol testing, liver screening, thyroid tests, bleeding studies, arthritis profiles and many others essential in assisting providers in making correct diagnosis.

FMC has extensive Diagnostic Imaging services available.  FMC has on staff registered x-ray technicians that can perform numerous radiology procedures ranging from broken bones to the viewing of sinus cavities for visible infections.

All FMC laboratory staff members are extensively trained.  Including having a Certified medical Technologist, three Certified Phlebotomist and numerous years of experience.
